Federal Legislation

On April 30, Congress rejected legislation (by 27 vote margin) introduced by Oregon’s Earl Blumenauer, which would allow VA doctors to talk about medical marijuana with their patients. This would not have allowed VA doctors to rx cannabis. In Oregon, PTSD is a qualifying condition for OMMP.

Currently before Congress, the Rohrabacher-Farr Amendment to the Commerce, Justice, and Science appropriation bill (HR 4660) would prohibit the Department of Justice from spending another taxpayer dime on prosecuting medical marijuana patients complying with state laws.
